Conner Prairie...again!

Yesterday Anna, Adele and I took our friends Amber and Evan to Conner Prairie. Adele wore her "Cinderella" dress and was so excited to dance with her prince, Evan. The two toddlers were so cute exploring everything. They were also very well behaved! Anna was pretty good except for when we were eating, and even then she took a nap after a while so I could finish my sandwich.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to take as many pictures as I would have liked. Here are the two that I got:
Playing with the doll house (Evan was organizing the items into different compartments):

Amber took a picture of both kids looking at the "ball"...by the time I grabbed my camera, they were done. If you look carefully, you can see Evan's foot in the bottom left corner:

Such is life...I'm hoping Amber will post her pictures on her blog too (Click on the "Evan" link on the side of my blog) because I know she got some great ones!

Anna and the Elephant

Anna has started to be "alert" (and happy!) for longer periods of time lately, and she really seems to enjoy playing on her "Elephant" gym:

Sleepover!

Adele is getting ready for a sleepover at Cousin James' house in July. She talks about it constantly (when she's not asking for ice cream rewards) and keeps telling us that she's ready to go! On Sunday night we tried to buy her a sleeping bag. Target didn't have kid-sized sleeping bags, but they did have kid-sized air mattresses with princess sleeping bags attached! Daddy couldn't resist (can you blame him?) so here's our "princess" practicing for her big sleepover!

Last night she got even more "practice" because we were under a severe storm warning for most of the night, and the entire family slept in the living room. It took her a while to settle down, but she did sleep on there eventually!

Quiet...

Yesterday I was nursing Anna when I realized that Adele had been mighty quiet for quite some time. Quiet usually means trouble when it comes to Adele.

I decided to go investigate, and this is what I found...

Could've been much worse!

The Many Faces of Anna

Sleepy:

Sweet:

Mischievous:

Huggable:

And, of course, the "stink eye!":
Must be time to eat!

Rethinking Our Reward System...

Ever since Anna made her grand appearance, we've tried hard to reward Adele's good behavior,so as to encourage more good behavior. We're thinking that Adele likes this system.

Here she is, eating a popsicle for good behavior of one kind or another:

Here's the conversation that followed:

Adele: "Mommy, I ten have eye-tream now?"
Mommy: "You think you need ice cream?"
Adele: "'Tuz I eat all my popsicle. I dud dirl!"

Yup...she "gets" it!

Tummy Time for Two!

Adele couldn't resist joining Anna for some tummy time!
