On Getting Dressed...
It's no secret that Adele is 100% girly girl. She loves purses, necklaces, shoes and credit cards. She also loves dressing herself. She was especially proud of herself today after putting her swimsuit on all by herself (okay...I helped get her arms through the straps):
(Oops...I guess this future swimsuit model has a few things to learn about where bikini BOTTOMS go...) Kinda reminds me of this:
And here she is trying on some "hats":

And here was my attempt to "dress up" her hair by adding piggies:

Yeah...that lasted about five seconds :-P

Oh, the Places You'll Go...
Apparently in this family, one of the places you'll go...a lot...is to the zoo. We took Adele to the zoo today, and we visited the zoo last week as well (which means that our zoo pass has officially paid for itself...) And let's not forget that Adele has been to the Madison zoo several times already!
She has actually been to the zoo 3 times this month. Today we wished we'd brought her swim suit and a towel so that she could enjoy the "splash park" and earlier this month, in Madison, we were wishing we'd brought her snow suit...such is Spring in the Midwest!

The Indy Zoo is a blast! There is actually so much to do there that it would be impossible to see it all in one trip (well...one trip with a 15 month old!)
Adele just LOVED the petting zoo. She couldn't get enough of the dolphins in the underwater viewing room, and there is a bridge near the rhinos that we must have crossed ten times in the past two visits!
Adele's new best friend:

Don't you just love her eyes in this picture...so...excited!

The bridge to the Rhinos...big kids would jump across, making it bounce (I decided today that this is a Daddy job from now on...made me dizzy!)

How many Hands are you?

The underwater viewing room (this picture doesn't do it justice, but I wanted to show how much Adele loved it! She just stood and screamed with excitement. (Oh..and she ran in circles around the room too...that was kind of funny to see!)

Easter
We spent Easter in LaPorte for the second year in a row, so I guess that's our new "tradition" as far as Easter is concerned. This year, however, everyone already knew we were coming (for the third weekend in a row, I might add) so we didn't get to surprise anyone.
Last year, Easter was a picture-fest, because it was the first time Adele got to meet MANY of her relatives. This year, we didn't even get a *good* picture of Adele in her Easter dress...oops! (We did get some great pictures of her in her Eeyore jacket that looks like a bunny, though)
Adele and James getting ready: (Click on the picture to make it bigger...so you can get the full effect of Adele with her "Grump" on)

Doesn't Adele's look (and her little hand holding out her sweater) scream, "I can't believe they're making me wear THIS!")
After church, discovering the contents of their Easter baskets:

"Hold on, I've got to take this call..."

Tim and Laura got Adele a pink princess cell phone...how thoughtful!
(we just love how she holds the phone backwards with her little shoulder...)
After the sugar buzz finally wore off, the little ones went down for a nap.
Once I was SURE Adele was asleep, I peeked in at her and found this:

At the same time, Laura peeked in on James and found this:

Is that funny or what?
The Easter Egg Hunt (in which Adele received her first bee sting...and handled it like a pro!...Mommy was just glad that *so far* she isn't allergic!)

Later on, with the "dad's":
Oh no! Cousin James fell off his bike!

Don't worry, it's Officer Adele to the rescue!

More from Wisconsin...
Okay...just so that the poop blog isn't at the top anymore, how about some old, old, old, old pictures from...Spring Break
Gramps just sent me these:
You're never too big for a bath in Memaw's sink:

Busy, Busy!

"Whee"

She actually really liked this little bouncy-thing, so I'm not sure what that face is for:

So proud of herself on her little slide!

These were mine, I guess they just didn't make the cut before:
Adele decided that she really liked Gimzo's bed:

Something to Blog About...
...how about poop?
I know it has been a *REALLY* long time since I blogged, I'll skip the excuses and just say that today something finally happened that I just couldn't resist blogging about!
Adele went POOP on the Potty!
"What's that?" you say, "I didn't even know you were potty training her...has it really been *that* long since you blogged?"
Nope, it hasn't been *that* long...and no, we're not potty training her just yet. In fact, the info from our 15 month well visit on Wednesday says not to even THINK about potty training yet. Well...of course, that got me thinking about potty training. But, only enough to buy a never-been-used potty chair at a rummage sale for $5.00 today.
(And I must say, the toddler stage "equipment" is SO not as fun as the newborn stuff...think about it, what would you rather sort through...used bouncy seats or used potty seats?)
Anyhow, I bought the seat and was planning on putting in in the downstairs bathroom to use as a stool for now (and to get Adele used to seeing it, I guess), and before I could even get it out of the box, Adele had it figured out. She started lifting the little lid and sitting on it right in the kitchen. She played with it for a while, and eventually I stuck it in the bathroom.
After dinner, I told Adele that we were going to change her diaper and go for a walk. She marched right into the bathroom and sat on her potty. So, I thought I'd get her wet diaper off of her and let her sit on the potty, since she clearly knows that the two are related (Elise at Miss Jenny's is potty training, so I'm not entirely surprised.) Well, I put her down on the potty and she tooted. She looked up at me, a little surprised, so I carefully lifted her off the potty, and sure enough, she had pooped!
I can't say I was actually too happy though, because the thing about potty chairs is that you have to clean them. I wasn't exactly prepared to have to do that yet! I did, however take a picture (which I'll spare you) to prove to Daddy that she had indeed pooped on the potty...since he was sleeping when it happened (And I REALLY didn't want save it for him...).
Now...aren't you glad I blogged tonight? (You should at least feel lucky that I didn't post the picture!)

Other Madison Attractions:
We took Adele to the mall because Daddy remembered that there was a fun "Kid Zone" Adele had a blast playing on the fun equipment.
It's too bad we didn't get a picture of her smile when she realized that all of this stuff was for her to play on!

She looked scared to death when we put quarters in this machine and it started to move! She held on for dear life, but I am pretty sure she ended up enjoying herself!

We went to the Children's Museum today and they had a little music class for toddlers. Adele was probably the only child there who hadn't been to the class before (Well...maybe the 12 day old little boy who was with his big sister) but she fit in pretty well.
Here she is playing with her egg shakers. She flashed us a HUGE smile when she first got them:

She quickly discovered who was in charge and made her way to the front of the class to be next to the teacher:

Then she decided that two eggs were not enough for her, so she grabbed the bucket. Some of the other little ones started putting their eggs away as she carried it around the room:

Next came the jingle bells. She loved these too!

I was surprised at how well she did with the sticks. She only started to get rowdy with them just at the end, and she did throw a fit when I took them away.

The Madison Children's Museum has a huge exhibit on cows. (Go Figure). She loved this little rocking cow. Gramps and I could hear her yelling as she rocked from across the room.
Petting the cow:
These giant stuffed fish were a bit hit too...until she fell off of one backwards, hitting her head. By that point I had already decided that it was time to go...sleepy baby=clumsy baby in Adele's case!
One last stop before we left. Unfortunately she loved this fish tunnel so much she wouldn't look at me long enough for me to get her face in the picture.
