I didn't mean to leave you hanging...it was just a rough week! I was waiting for pictures from Aunt Katie before sharing her news, but she still hasn't sent them...argh! Anyway, her exciting news is that Adele is getting a new Uncle! She and Michael got engaged last Saturday (just as soon as she got home from visiting us), and are planning on getting married the Saturday after Thanksgiving, 2009. We are very excited for them!
We're currently at Memaw's after spending Friday night and Saturday at Uncle Tim's. Adele had a blast playing with James' toys, especially his rocking chair! Thank goodness Memaw has a kiddie-sized rocking chair at her house too! We've already decided that we won't run out and get one (which is what we usually do after Adele finds a fun toy at her cousin's!) so that she will still get excited about them when we go visiting!
Daddy left the camera upstairs, and Adele just fell asleep, so I'll have to post pictures later.

I've Been a Bit Behind...
On my Blogging! Sorry! First I was waiting to write a blog because a new blog would have bumped all of my most recent videos and pictures to a new page, and I wanted to make sure everyone saw them....and then, well, Life happened. So, if I have any readers out there, here's a quick update on "things":
Last weekend Aunt Katie (aka: Aunt Deedee) came to stay for her spring break (to get some teaching opportunities in....to help with her latest degree). Daddy and I used her visit as an excuse to "escape" for a night so that we could...well...sleep in....on Sunday.
Unfortunately, on Friday when we got home from school, Adele was sporting a little fever. I think it was around 101. We gave her tylenol and hoped that it would go away overnight as all of her previous fevers had done. NOPE! It was still there on Saturday, and getting higher.
I took her to urgent care, but they said she was fine (no ear infection of strep throat) and to go back in in 48 hours if her fever hadn't broken. Since she was "fine" with the exception of the fever (which had reached 103.1), we decided to go ahead and leave for the night, knowing that Adele was in the VERY capable hands of Aunt Deedee.
They did fine, (Despite my NUMEROUS phone calls) and Adele's fever spiked to 103.9 sometime in the middle of the night on Saturday. It started coming down by Sunday but was holding tight around 101.
So the fever continued through Wednesday. YIKES! That's a LONG time for a little one to have a fever! Thank goodness she liked the Motrin we gave her, but unfortunately it didn't keep her fever down for very long, and we could only give it every 8 hours.
She finally went back to Miss Jenny on Thursday, and has been a bundle of energy ever since. (I hear that she was a bundle of energy on Wednesday for Aunt Dede as well....thank goodness Deedee was able to stay home with her, as I had 47 parent-teacher conferences that I REALLY didn't want to reschedule!)
Everyone is happy and healthy now, even though we already miss Aunt Deedee! (Who as it turns out is probably VERY happy to be home again after hearing her most recent news...which I'll share as soon as I get permission, of course!) And I think I'll even have time to upload some pictures later today!

And Some Pictures...
"Walk with me, Mommy! Let's go see that tree!"
"I'm so big!"
"Okay, I think I have a handle on this 'walking in the grass' stuff..."
"I'm serious...I think I can do it myself!"
Mommy: "I'll give you ice cream for dinner if you release your death grip on my finger"
"Did you say ice cream for dinner?"
Exploring with Daddy:
She did this all by herself...she was so worn out!
Her latest "thing" is to put shoes on her hands...
Playing peek-a-boo behind the refrigerator:
Rain, Rain, Go Away, Little Ellie wants to play! (She threw a fit this morning when our wagon ride was postponed due to the rain).
"Skills"
Adele has been so cute with everything she has learned lately, and it's been fun going through "old" videos to see just how big and grown up she really has gotten! Here she is showing off her new "skills" as Daddy calls them:
On a Roll!
Thanks to my shopping trip with Tisha today, Daddy had some quiet time to upload videos (in case you hadn't figured that out yet...) This was just a few weekends ago:
Walking
Adele is walking (and sometimes running) like a pro now, but we're just getting video uploaded of some of her first steps. The steps in this clip aren't her first steps, but it is the first time she let Daddy videotape while she was walking!
Some old videos....
of some snow:
What a mean Mommy I am...I make her eat the snow after she shakes her head "no" repeatedly!!!

Happy Blogiversary!
So, I actually did it...I started writing a blog, and kept on going! One year and two-hundred-some posts later, here I am!
In honor of my blogiversary, Adele and I played Hooky today. well, not really. She had a fever at Miss Jenny's yesterday, and I had 6 students out, most of them with fevers, so I decided it would be best to go ahead leave sub plans and take the day off...just "knowing" I'd have a feverish, sick, sleepy, snuggly baby on my hands all day.
That was SO not the case! (Are you surprised?...we are talking about Adele here)
Adele is feeling FINE today, so we had a playful, busy day here at home. I went back to some of my old ways and actually CLEANED when she went down for her morning nap (including DUSTING!!!)...and here I am BLOGGING during her afternoon one! In-between naps we've had tons of fun, and I even remembered to take pictures:
Something new: bubbles

She loved scooping them up!

She couldn't figure out how to get them off of her hand:

"Does Cookie want to play?"

I showed her how to "clap" her hands with the bubbles on them...she LOVED it but clapped too fast for me to capture on film:

"Mommy, we should do this EVERY day!"

Princess Chair!
Daddy has been wanting to get Adele her own chair for quite a while now. So, this weekend we searched through store after store in the hopes of finding the perfect chair. I think we did good!

She has carried it around from room to room, and last night practically refused to go to sleep because she wanted to sit in it so bad! She "rocks" in it and flips herself over, then laughs and starts all over again.
And just for fun, here she is in almost the exact same outfit last February/March:
(Are you surprised that her belly stuck out then too...)
