And one fell out.
There were three in the bed and Miss Adele said, "Where's Cookie?"

Precious Moments
Better late than never...
On Sunday when we picked up Adele from the nursery at church, she was "helping" an older (or at least taller) girl push a little walking toy. I don't think that either of the girls noticed the other one, but they were both just as busy as could be pushing their walker along. Adele was actually half crawling/half holding on, so she was basically walking on her knees. She was so busy at first that she didn't see us. She was definitely proud of the "job" she was doing! It was just the cutest thing ever.
I was reminded about this precious moment when she started walking on her knees to push her own walker today. TOO CUTE!

I Couldn't Resist
I know, I know, I've posted about a thousand "leaves" pictures recently...
...But you would too if you had gorgeous weather, a gorgeous tree, a gorgeous dog AND the MOST GORGEOUS baby ever to top it all off!
(by the way, when you type "gorgeous" that many times, you realized what an unattractive word it actually is...)
"I could've sworn I used to have legs"

"I think I found them..."

"This isn't my foot..."

"How did this monkey get here?"

"Oh, Cookie!"

What do you think? A replacement for the Cookie picture over our fireplace?

And now for the not so gorgeous job of folding laundry...

How Do You Spell Trouble?
C-O-O-K-I-E!
She's been wild this morning! She had to have a "time out" while Adele and I were getting dressed. She was SO excited about going for a walk that she kept running into Adele, knocking her over, and she'd "block" me from helping Adele once she was down. Finally I took her downstairs and made her sit, then I wouldn't let her back up the stairs with me. She actually did finally sit in her "time out" too...which was SO cute!
So, I tried to take her to see Clutch, but our neighbor was out waxing his truck, so Cookie had to stand and growl at him a bit. Then she tried to cross the street about ten times while walking down to Clutch. I think she was chasing invisible Chippies or something.
She was fiesty with Clutch, too. She growled and barked at him more than usual and pretty much had the rips the whole time with him...well, that is, after she spent about 2 minutes tormenting him by laying just outside of his fence and rolling. Then, all of the sudden she was done and bolted toward home. Fortunately I was able to catch her and put the leash on her!
She had some howling too, which Miss Adele absolutely loved!
Adele had a major fuss for a diaper change, but other than that she's been extra cute too. I have her a biter biscuit for part of her breakfast 'cuz she was naked (she peed through her PJ's and Sleep Sack!) and she tried to share with Cookie. She's so cute like that!
When I was putting her down for her nap just now, I thought she was asleep, and suddenly she spit her paci out so it went behind the chair. I gave it back and what do you know, she spit it out again. She did it over and over again. It was SO hard not to laugh, but finally (after about 4 or 5 times) I just put her in her crib. She fussed for a second and now she's out.
Note to Daddy:
She's been saying "dada" all day too. Oh, and carrying the block with your picture around. She definitely misses you!

Just Another Manic...Wednesday?
Okay, not really manic, but I've been happy and sad all day long. Today marks two months until I go back to work. WAAHHHHH! I also got to meet a new baby today, Isabella, my friend Jennifer's little girl. She was born on October 19th and is just the tiniest little thing ever. When born, she weighed one whole ounce more than Miss Adele did, so I'm assuming that Adele was once that tiny (although, Isabella's feet are WAY smaller than Adele's ever were...and that I know for sure!) but it's hard to remember Adele being that small. So, it was a bittersweet visit...mostly happy and good, but it reminded me that Adele is getting so big!
Oh, and let's not forget about our new president-elect! It's the first time my vote has "mattered" since I've lived in Indiana...go blue! (Although, thinking that I'll already be back to work when Obama takes over the Oval Office made me sad once again...)
So...it was a bit of a manic Wednesday...But I wouldn't change it for the world!
As beautiful as it was to meet a new baby, it made me sad that Adele has already grown up so fast! Although, she's apparently still "tiny" to some people. I picked up my friend Jenn's little boy, Will from daycare today, and when I told him I was going to meet a tiny, brand new baby he said, "you mean a tiny baby like Miss Adele?" TOO CUTE!
In honor of my "big girl" I thought I'd write about some of the things she is doing now:
She is definitely in a stage where anything that ISN'T a toy is much more fun than anything that IS a toy!
You saw the video of Adele playing with Daddy's shoes...those are one of her favorite "toys"! She really loves all shoes, she even found one at Isabella's house today that she tested out.
This morning while I took a shower she found a box of Q-tips (yeah...we have to do more babyproofing....I know!) Anyhow, she would pull out a Q-tip or two, put them into her mouth, make a face, pull them out and throw them behind her. She repeated that for several minutes, and then just dumped the whole box out and grabbed fistfulls.
The other day I was stirring a mug of tea, she looked up at the sound of the spoon clanking on the cup, so I just had to give her her own spoon and coffee cup. She played with them for ten minutes uninterrupted! She loves having a "grownup" spoon to play with!
She can now climb up our whole staircase, and quickly, at that. The other day, she tried to climb down the stairs. She was fearless, put one hand down the step, then the other, and managed to keep her balance while she got one leg down. She had to turn sideways to get the next leg down (and YES, I was RIGHT THERE the whole time!) However, once she got the second leg down, she looked around and climbed back up. Silly girl!
Her books are in two baskets in the living room. She loves to pull them out of the baskets and throw them all over the floor. But, if I start "reading" from one of the books in her hand as she "throws" them, she'll turn toward me and hold the book up. If I pick her up to read the book, she'll end up sitting through book after book after book! We hope she continues to love reading!
Her teeth are another one of her favorite "toys" She has been biting like CRAZY and it really HURTS!!! I've tried to be firm about saying "no biting" and giving her a teething ring to chomp on, but she's so cute and innocent when she goes to bite you, it's almost cute!...but not too cute. I actually still have marks on my knuckle from where she bit me this morning!
In addition to biting, she's become quite the little "pincher." Her pudgy fingers and thumbs pinch anything and everything they can grab hold of. One of her favorite places to pinch is our necks. She grabs a bit of skin and "rolls" it between her fingers. OUCH!
And...on the other hand, I hear that little Isabella isn't so fond of sleeping at night yet, so maybe it's not such a bad thing that Miss Adele is growing up so fast!

Daddy Time
I don't remember what I was doing yesterday morning, but Adele and Daddy had some quality time together. Here's how it went:
