WARNING: This blog post is all about pee, poop and panties!
Now that Adele's most recent sickness is behind us, Adele is ready to work on potty training again!
I say that Adele is ready because on Saturday morning, just as soon as she woke up (at the ripe 'ole hour of 6:30!), Adele announced, "Panties all day!" (Not to be confused with "Jammies all day" which is her usual morning announcement...)
She took her jammies and diaper off (yeah...that gets messy sometimes!), found a pair of panties, put her jammies back on, and started her day!
Around 10:00 (you know, when the REST of the world wakes up on Saturday mornings...) we decided it was time to get out of the house, so we loaded her into the car (with a changing pad on her carseat...just in case!) and headed to Connor Prairie. (We did change her into clothes first...but no diaper!) We went to the potty as soon as we got there, then she played quite a bit, and we went again before we left.
She was doing so well that we decided to take her to Kroger to get groceries. She pushed her own cart, and stayed dry the entire time there too! We stopped for one potty break while Daddy paid.
She did have an accident just at bedtime last night, but that was 12 hours in to her diaper-free (except for nap) day!
This morning she woke up saying the same thing, "Panties all day, mommy!" So, we tried for day #2 of being diaper free. Daddy and I are in the Praise Band at church, which means a LONG 3 hours in the nursery for Adele.
She made it through the first hour without any accidents (well...except for a tiny dribble on the way IN to church...but she managed to hold the rest of her pee until we got into the nursery and she could use the potty chair!) Sadly, today was the day she moved up to the 2-year old room. (Sadly for potty training reasons, she's...no...we've been ready (for her) to leave the 1-year old teacher for quite some time now...)
What I didn't know was that the 2-year old room has about 100 kids in it (Okay...like 10, but that' a LOT of toddlers!) So she had a TON of new stimulation, not to mention teachers who were probably more concerned about her food allergies than her panties (As they should be on her first day!) so, she had one accident there (which didn't happen right away...), and they changed her back into a diaper until I came to get her.
I probably should have asked them to keep her in the 1 year old room just for today, while she was still figuring out the whole "panties" thing, but oh well...it's just one more pair of pants to throw in the wash!
Once we got home, the diaper came off again, and she was accident free all the way through bedtime.
She had 3 poops on the potty this weekend too, and proudly ate a sucker after each one...so now her teeth will probably rot out, but at least we will have all of that saved "diaper" money to spend on root canals...
If only she would learn to say "diaper" and " big girl" instead of "baper" and "di-doh"...seeing as she can make both the /d/ and /b/ sounds...then everyone else would understand her when she talks about potty training.
Here's hoping that she'll continue using the potty so well...after all, I've been known to jinx myself before on this blog!

So jealous - Evan is uninterested. It's so much easier to pee yourself and let someone else clean it up. Uh! Good job for Miss Adele!
