Family Time with Memaw!

We've been busy snapping tons of picutres of our BIG GIRL today (I've also been putting away her "baby" clohtes...sniff, sniff...to make room for all of her fall/bigger clothes)

Here are some of our favorites:

"Hey, let me in there with all those fun toys!"

Chillin' with Daddy and Cookie

And this is how she looked in between every shot:I guess we should tell her that the kind of cookies you eat aren't big and furry....

Mommy's Tired!

I went to bed after 11 last night, and have been up since 4:00 (Thanks to Miss Adele wanting a 4 AM snack, and then me not being able to fall back asleep)....yuck! Adele woke up for the day at 7, she had been sleeping in until closer to 8. Somebody needs to teach this girl about WEEKENDS!!!

Memaw and I went garage saleing this morning...kind of. I saw signs for a neighborhood garage sale on Thursday, so we tried to check it out, but we couldn't find the right neighborhood. Then this morning, we found the correct neighborhood...all 12 houses or so...and only 2, possibly 3 of them were having sales. The one sale we did go to had lots of name brand little girl clothes for about 2 dollars an outfit, so we stocked up on some 12-18 month stuff. So, our trip wasn't a total waste, but I must admit, I was a bit disappointed about the lack of houses/sales in the neighborhood.

What else is new?? OH....a NEW TOOTH! That makes number 3, and 4 is on its way...I'd say it will be here in the next day or so. I kept meaning to take a poll (There are some cool polls you can put on your blog) on which would happen first...a new tooth or Adele crawling...both seemed to be so close but so far away...but the tooth beat me to the poll...oh well. The tooth is her upper left middle tooth...not her "Fang" like I was thinking it would be (her entire top gums have been so swollen, and it really looked like the "fangs" would be coming in first...just like Cousin James). Her right middle top tooth is just starting to poke through, but the little stinker will hardly let me get my finger in there to feel her gums. Poor thing, they must be awfully sore! I'd take a picture, but she won't open her mouth far enough either.

Yesterday it rained most of the day, so we had a lot of quality time inside. Memaw and I both took lots of pictures, some turned out...some didn't! Our busy little girl doesn't like to sit still for too long, so it's sometimes hard to get a good shot anymore.

Reading with Mommy:
"I've got your nose, Memaw!"
We "walked" all the way across the kitchen...it took a LONG time, but I only gently supported the toy so Adele wouldn't push it out too far and take a nosedive. She did the rest of the work.

"Now, lemme see how your nose tastes, Memaw"
Memaw found Miss Adele "sitting" in the path of the balls on her new toy:
A shot from the "rear"She has started to refuse to wear her bib. Until last night, this was one of the few that she couldn't get off. Not anymore!

"Get this OFF of me!"

They Say...

You can't spoil a baby, but I'm pretty sure that our Miss Adele is quickly becoming the exception to that rule. While we were still in Wisconsin, Memaw picked out this awesome toy for her to "cruise" around on. It took a little elbow grease, but I got it set up last night after I put Adele to bed.

This morning, Adele and I came sleepily downstairs and went to go veg out on the couch. (She's so snuggly in the morning, it's one of the only times she'll just sit with you on your lap). Well, that worked for about twenty seconds, until she saw the new toy. Then she got SO excited. She started breathing hard and her little arms and legs wouldn't stop going! I set her down at it, and she probably would've stayed there ALL day if it hadn't been for us grownups trying to keep her on a "schedule" (you know, eating, sleeping, changing diapers, all that boring stuff....)

I know these pictures aren't the best, but she was WAY too busy playing to look up at mommy!

Kidnapped!

We kidnapped Memaw and brought her back to Indy with us to help with the 8 hour car ride. It worked! Adele was happy that she had someone to entertain her on the long, LONG ride home! It rained some, but not nearly as hard as it had rained on Thursday.

Now, the only question is how Memaw will get back home...oh well, we'll figure it out eventually...

Stand

I keep forgetting to post this. Daddy made this video just before we left for Wisconsin. These clips were the few "good" clips out of tons of footage, and they clearly show her most favorite activity of late.

Enjoy!

Zoo, take Two...and Other Fun!

Saturday was just packed with adventure! Mommy was feeling pretty under the weather with a nasty cold, but that didn't stop Miss Adele from having her fun!

She kept Gramps company while I ran to Walgreens for some cold medicine. Memaw and Aunt Jenny were gone too, so Miss Adele was excited to have Gramps all to herself!

She took her second trip to the Henry Vilas Zoo on Saturday, with Mommy, Memaw, Gramps, Aunt Katie and Aunt Jenny...the whole clan! She showed a little bit more interest in the animals, as long as they were moving around. She especially liked the ostrich, who was busy nipping at his fence, and the flamingos who kept running back and forth, squawking and flapping their wings.
She liked the bears as well. The polar bear was swimming back and forth in his "pool"

(I think she wanted to go swimming with him, even though it was actually a bit chilly out!) The grizzly bears were walking around their "pool" and she got to watch one jump in!

Remember this?

Here she is almost 3 months later (somebody's been eating well...):
Did you notice her two teeth in the second picture, too? She cut the first one a day or two after our first zoo trip this summer.

She also started pulling herself up on her music table, which she hadn't done before, and she started "cruising" around it...all by herself! She still prefers to "cruise" around by holding my fingers, but she figured out how to get around on her own if Mommy isn't right there.
Here, she started out where the trombone is, and "cruised" around while we weren't looking:

As we were geting ready to go to the zoo, she grabbed Gramps' apple off of the counter and started chewing on it. She actually bit a tiny little piece of the peel off...yum!

She fell asleep on the ride home from the zoo (just like last time) and actually went right back to sleep when I put her into her crib, but then Jaxon started barking, and from there, Miss Adele just wouldn't go back to sleep. She was happy, but I was feeling miserable, so I left her with Memaw and Aunt Katie and tried to rest. I couldn't fall asleep, so eventually I went back downstairs to play with her, and Memaw took a nap (Gramps, Aunt Jenny and Jaxon also took naps).
Aunt Katie and I had a little fun putting Miss Adele into a Pampers box. She didn't seem to mind being in the box one bit, in fact, she seemed to enjoy it.
"It's just my size, Aunt Katie!"

We Miss You, Daddy!

But we're having fun here too...

Here are some pictures of how Miss Adele spent her day. It was a good day...much better than yesterday! Much less screaming! Much less driving! Much less pouring rain...yay!

Adele shows Gramps the funny doggies outside of the door.

Here she is trying watermelon for the first time...she liked it!

Gramps gave her this spoon to play with:

Here's how she looked when I tried to take it away:

And here she is when I gave it back again....much better, Mommy!

After a fun-filled day, it was time for a bath in the kitchen sink. She loved it, but kept reaching for the dirty dishes on the other side...

We went out to breakfast this morning with Great Grandpa and some aunts and uncles. After breakfast, Adele took a 2 hour nap. When she woke up, we went to Toys R Us, where Memaw picked out a present for our Ellie Belly. After Toys R Us, we stopped by a daycare where I used to work, and Miss Adele met my old college friend, Tanya (and some other wonderful gals who I worked with years ago).

All in all, it was a pretty busy day, and I'm worn out! Tomorrow we're going to the zoo, and I'm pretty excited about it after watching Miss Adele watch the little dogs all day today!
